A winter climate with temperatures around freezing is almost unknown on the coasts of the Mediterranean region. In the western part of the Mediterranean, in Majorca, for example, daily temperatures in the period from November to February are often between 16 °C and 18 °C. In the summer, the thermometer rises to more than 30 °C. In the eastern Mediterranean, for example in Greece and Turkey, it remains similarly warm all year. In Rhodes or Antalya, daytime temperatures in winter range from 14 °C to 21 °C, while it is very hot during the summer, with temperatures above 30 °C. The water temperature does not fall below 16 °C during the winter months and is between 23 and 27 °C in summer.
