To ensure the safety and comfort of our passengers, only one piece of hand baggage with a maximum weight of 8 kg is allowed in the cabin. The dimensions may not exceed 55 x 40 x 23 cm. Only one small piece of hand luggage weighing no more than 4 kg and measuring no more than 40 x 30 x 20 cm is included in the SunLight fare.
Depending on the airport of departure, a piece of hand baggage the weight and dimensions of which exceed the permitted norms may be rejected or carried in the hold against payment at the boarding gate.
Please note that a fee of 80 € will be charged for hand baggage if the allowable weight and/or dimensions are exceeded, regardless of the extent of the excess. Also for each additional hand baggage (starting from second hand baggage), fee of 80 € will be charged per piece. This fee applies for each additional piece of hand baggage. This fee must be paid before boarding. For flights departing from the United Kingdom, the fee is 80 £. This rule is valid from March 10, 2025.
The amount of liquids permitted in hand baggage is regulated by local and international civil aviation authorities. The regulations which currently apply to all international flights are also applicable for all domestic flights and are summarized below.
It is highly recommended that passengers purchase such bags in good time and that they pack at home those liquids and comparable products they intend to transport in their hand luggage.
Exceptions
Medication and special foods (e.g. baby formula) that will be needed during the flight are exempt from the above regulations. Passengers may be asked to sample medication or baby food at checkpoints.
There is no restriction on Travel Value & Duty Free products in carry-on baggage, provided they have been purchased after security screening at an EU airport or on board an EU airline and are carried in a sealed, transparent bag. The bag must contain a receipt that can be read from outside, stating the date and place of the sale on the same day. The bag has to remain sealed until the end of the last flight segment.
Liquids can be carried in checked bag without restriction.
In accordance with EU security regulations, transit passengers who have to disembark the aircraft in EU countries and have an onward flight are subject to another security check.
Please consider that within the transit area, the rules for hand baggage and liquids apply. That means that liquids above 100 ml are not allowed. We kindly ask you to keep these rules in mind when buying duty-free goods whilst in transit.

Larger items must be checked in with the passenger’s baggage. It is not allowed to carry sharp and pointed objects (e.g. jack-knives, nail scissors, knitting needles, etc.) in hand baggage. Should such items be confiscated during the security check of carry-on items, it is usually not possible to check these items in as hold baggage. Passengers must then do without these items. Important documents, valuable items and medications should only be transported in hand baggage and not in travel baggage.
