SUNEXPRESS EXPANDS UK ROUTE NETWORK FOR SUMMER 2025

December 12, 2024

12th December, 2024: SunExpress, a joint venture of Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines, is expanding its UK route network for summer 2025. SunExpress will offer a total of 178 weekly flights from an expanded 11 airports, giving UK passengers more choice than ever to opt for the value carrier’s services.

Services from Glasgow Airport to Antalya and Dalaman, and Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Antalya, will launch for the first time in April 2025. With these added routes, SunExpress will offer around 1.9 million seats in 2025 for the UK, representing a 20% increase in seat capacity for summer 2024.

At London Stansted Airport, the carrier is nearly doubling its weekly flights. It is offering 26 weekly flights in summer 2025 - up from 14 this year, including two brand new routes to Dalaman and Kayseri.

Alongside the additional services from Stansted, Glasgow and Liverpool, SunExpress is launching a twice-weekly service from Newcastle to Dalaman. This builds upon the Newcastle to Antalya service which commenced in 2024.

Flight frequencies will also increase across a wide range of the airline’s existing UK routes. At the heart of this will be up to three times daily services to Antalya from London Gatwick, Manchester, and Birmingham for summer 2025.

SunExpress has launched a new range of fare options for Summer 2025 to support the diverse needs of UK passengers. They provide a blend of different options including baggage allowances, seat reservations, check-in options and booking flexibility.

The new fares have been carefully developed in bundle format to be tailored to customers’ differing needs, providing increased choice and the potential for greater savings.

In addition to ‘summer sun and beach’ travel, SunExpress is catering for a number of other types of travel for which Türkiye is popular including cultural, archaeological, and culinary tourism, and sports travel.

These are significant investments that SunExpress is making in its UK operation as it continues to grow its presence in in the UK - its 2nd core source market behind the DACH region (German, Austria and Switzerland).

SunExpress is a value carrier with a strong presence on the Turkish Riviera and in Anatolia. In 2024 it operated in a total of 200 routes to 68 destinations across 35 countries. SunExpress is the leading carrier between Germany-Austria-Switzerland and the Turkish Riviera and Anatolia.
