August 11, 2023

London, June 2023 – Leisure airline SunExpress, a joint venture of Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines, has announced that it will expand its flight portfolio from the United Kingdom to add Leeds-Bradford to its route network for the summer 2024 season.

This year SunExpress, which was recently named ‘Best Leisure Airline in Europe’ at the World Airline Awards 2023, has implemented its historically largest route and network expansion in the UK, connecting seven important British gateways with popular and sunny destinations in Turkey.

In line with its growth plans, the carrier appointed Eray Mert as UK & Ireland Country Manager who will be based in London and responsible for sales in the region. The airline currently offers direct flights from Gatwick, Luton, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Bristol and Edinburgh to Antalya, Dalaman, Izmir, and Gaziantep for the summer 2023 season.

“As we continue to increase our footprint further in the UK and Ireland, we look forward to deepening our relationships with travel industry partners in the country under the leadership of Eray Mert in order to strengthen our market position and meet the needs of our customers better” states Peter Glade, Commercial Director at SunExpress.
